For Mission Agency Leaders
Dear Mission Agency Leader,
Are you looking for a place where your missionaries can research solutions to special problems that may be facing your agency, or continue in other strategic service, while meeting the special needs of their family?
From time to time you have field missionaries who need a temporary or long-term assignment in the U.S.
- Perhaps their kids are going through a rough transition.
- Maybe there is a health problem in the family.
- Do you have folks needing to return temporarily from a difficult field.
- What about those who need to "retire" from the field but would like to stay active.
When you don't have a suitable role for such missionaries in your home office, consider having them represent your agency at the U.S. Center for World Mission.
Such missionaries make a made a continuing contribution to their own agency while strengthening the whole mission effort. It is a Win-Win-Win situation!
The USCWM has served missionaries from AIM, TEAM, OMF, OM, SEND, CMA, IMB/SBC, Frontiers and other agencies in this way.
What your agency gains out of assigning people to the USCWM:
- Opportunities to represent your agency to the flow of visitors drawn by USCWM resources.
- Relationships with USCWM staff anticipating field service at some future date.
- Better recruiting contacts with 2,500 new Perspectives alumni each year.
- Promotion of your agency's work in Mission Frontiers and the Global Prayer Digest.
- Publishing expertise and assistance in "telling your agency's story" in book form.
- Involvement in continuing discussions of field strategy.
- A link with the USCWM's affiliated university, which focuses on mission agency needs.
- Guided academic research in areas of interest to your agency.
What your missionary gains out of an assignment to the USCWM:
- A strategic U.S. assignment worthy of continued missionary support.
- A broadening network of relationships with a stream of guest missionaries and leaders.
- An overview of global mission developments—a great complement to specific field insights.
- Guidance in researching and refining insights and observations gained in field experience.
- Supervised, accredited, continuing foundational education.
- Opportunities to share insights gained on the field.
- A missionary grade school able to handle some kinds of special educational needs.
- A caring residential missionary community.
- Daily fellowship and interaction with a team that shares a common focus.
- Direct high-speed Internet access for research and communication with the home office.
- Continued training, encouragement, accountability and assistance in support development.
How the USCWM benefits from your agency personnel:
The USCWM exists to serve mission agencies like yours. Its effectiveness is enhanced when it can work with and through your assigned representatives. This has proven the best way for the USCWM to promote what your agency is doing and adapt USCWM ministries to benefit your agency. USCWM Strategy Institutes are enhanced by the additional insights of each person with field experience. USCWM members and interns anticipating later field service benefit from contact with representatives of agencies with which they may later wish to serve.
The participation of your "U.S. bound" missionaries is vital to the ultimate effectiveness of the U.S. Center for World Mission (and its affiliated university) in its service to yours and other agencies. Should you assign one or more of your missionaries to work with us, we will do all we can to make sure your goals are met.

First, you established a place where I could work productively a few years after retirement from the mission field.
Second, you have given me the opportunity of learning a lot more about missions worldwide.
Third, you have given me the opportunity of making many new friends, including many foreign friends from other countries.
And fourth, you have given me a community of all ages to live around and to interact with on a daily basis.Thank you,
Helen Kennedy
