You will be buying your study kit for a complete Module.
The student is responsible for purchasing the mentor's materials.
Also, the Orders Department can provide a few of the textbooks you will need. You can order these textbooks using the Module 1 Order Form.
Now, let's complete the Module 1 Order Form (pdf) (word)
Once you have completed this form you can either email, fax, or send it by mail to the address indicated on the form. Please allow two weeks for your order to be processed, plus shipping time.
Step 2: Order Your Textbooks
Textbooks are ordered separately from your study kit.
Download the Module 1 Textbook List (pdf) for a list of all required materials in Module 1.
You may obtain the textbooks however you wish, and you are not required to buy them if you have access to a library from which you may borrow these required texts. You may also purchase these books from wherever you wish.
While you may purchase your textbooks from wherever you wish; please note that at different times the Orders Department has some of the required textbooks for sale at a discounted price. This is reflected on your Module 1 Order form. The books listed are offered at a lower price than at MBS.
We have provided a resource for you where your textbooks can easily be purchased online through the MBS Direct virtual bookstore http://direct.mbsbooks.com/iis.htm
MBS boasts that you receive the best possible service and the highest quality product, accurately and on time. Not only does MSB know your courses and stock what you'll need, they also provide Used Books, Buyback, a Return Policy and a secure ordering site.
Click on “Buy Course Materials” to view the list of textbooks that are available for purchase.
IMPORTANT MODULE 1 TEXTBOOK INFORMATION NOTES
New Englishman’s Hebrew Concordance
* Please note that the The New Englishman's Hebrew Concordance : Coded to Strong's Concordance Numbering System by George V. Wigram is a required text that is not offered through MBS. This book is out of print and can only be obtained at a few retailers.
The Orders department has done some research and was able to put together a comparative shopping list of some of the retailers who carry this Concordance. You can view the most current version of the list that we found at:
http://www.allbookstores.com/book/compare/0913573213
or
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0913573213/ref=dp_olp_3/103-5773019-2962221
If you still have trouble obtaining the Hebrew Concordance please contact the Orders Department.
Logos Bible Scholar’s Library
We are very pleased to be networking with Logos Bible Software, and are able to offer the Logos Scholar's Library, which contains the equivalent of many of the books already needed in the World Christian Foundations program, at the discounted price of $472.47 (retail is $615). This is approximately the same cost as students are currently paying for the books replaced in Modules 1, 2 and 3.
This electronic library is completely searchable, and also contains hundreds of additional titles that could be useful as you do research for papers on biblical studies topics. It also contains the Hebrew Concordance needed for your Hebrew Lessons.
We highly recommend the Logos system, especially since the Hebrew Concordance is out of print and can only be obtained at a few select retailers.
Logos provides training modules online and within the software itself.

Textbook Editions
Eerdmans’ Handbook to the World’s Religions, 2d ed. has gone out of print. Therefore, while you can perhaps find a used copy of this book somewhere, we strongly suggest that you purchase the replacement textbook that we have chosen, the book entitled "Introduction to World Religions" edited by Partridge. We have provided you with a conversion chart that will indicate which pages from Partridges text to read for which lesson. The chart is found online at: wciu.edu/conversion
The World Christian Foundations program tries very hard to write the lesson assignments in our study guides so as to reflect the most up-to-date textbook editions. Unfortunately, there are times when textbooks are updated and our Production team has not been made aware of this fact. An example of this occurs in Module 1. In lessons 61-72, a textbook entitled The Unseen Face of Islam by Bill Musk is assigned. However, the page numbers assigned in our 2006 Study Guide (Fifth Edition) reflect the page numbers for the 1st ed. of The Unseen Face of Islam and not the 2nd ed. which is more readily available for purchase. Please keep in mind that, in general, any edition of the required textbooks are adequate for the successful completion of the World Christian Foundations program. Therefore, in order to aid students who may have a different edition of a textbook than what is indicated in the Study Guide, a number of conversion charts have been made available which indicate the correct page numbers correlating to your assignments for different textbook editions. To view the charts that we have made visit the following link: wciu.edu/conversion
If you have any concerns or questions about ordering books, contact the Orders Department at orders@wciu.edu or 626-398-2289.
Step 3: Downloading Important Documents
There are additional documents that are helpful and necessary for the completion of Module 1. Some documents are informational, whereas others must be filled out and returned to your institution. If you are a WCIU student then please follow this link to find the forms that you will need: WCIU Forms Link
